What would your ideal music festival be?

Name 10 (or less) bands and any additional amenities (food, camping, locale, etc...) you would want to see at your own personal ultimate music festival.

Inquiring minds want to know. Use the comments link below.

Still conceiving mine...

The 10 bands is too difficult to list for obvious reasons. However, I have to say that the old High Sierra Music Festival Site was pretty spectacular. Its too bad that space really doesn't get used like it once did.

First, the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, CA would be my choice to hold such an event -The views, the locale up in the mountains, the distance we would be from civilzation - just perfect

The lineup, not in any special order, would consist of:

Robert Randolph and The Family Band
Tea Leaf Green
String Cheese Incident
moe.
Maceo Parker
Perpetual Groove
Phil Lesh and Friends
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe
The Radiators
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band

I wouldn't have bands playing opposite each other and the least amount of time a band would perform would be 2 hours

Get it together, Andy, and let me know!!

I liked the Langerado grounds down in Miami, but I'd go with somewhere like Watkins Glen, for sentimentality reasons. Man, I'd have loved to have been there in '73 for that killer Dead/Band/Allmans show.

My ten bands, in nooo particular order:

1. Bruce Hornsby's band
2. Tea Leaf Green
3. MMW
4. Trey and Friends
5. Greyboy Allstars reunion (if this can't be arranged, I'll take either Denson or Walter)
6. The Duo (with or without Mike)
7. Railroad Earth
8. moe.
9. Phil & Friends
10. David Byrne w/ special guests Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

There are some more I left out, and I shouldn't have left Bobby off the menu, but it happens. As long as there's some water, fresh air, nice weather, ample room to roam and sleep and perhaps a N20 tank or two(!), I'm cool with whatever...

A spacious field with plenty of trees, limit on the people (say 15,000 tops). Plenty of food, water, space and some arts/culture sprinkled in.

1. Steve Kimock
2. Bill Frissell
3. Built to Spill
4. Gordon/Kottke
5. Tortoise
6. Gillian Welch
7. The Slip
8. Los Lobos
9. Sigur Ros
10. Ween

On a barrier island of North Carolina or just a coastal area in late September. 2 nights of 12 hours of straight music. 6 bands each night. (8pm-8am) The bands would seamlessly slide on and off stage. Maybe some guests could jump up. This location and format would be sweet. Not 100% on the bands.... but a few could be:

Percy Hill
Bisco
Vida Blue (is that even possible?)
Zilla
Lotus
Tea Leaf Green
Duo / Gordo
JMP
YMSB
whatever Les is doing that day
Gabby Lala should come with Les

as far as the day time.... have AFFORDABLE drinks and food... or have them included. Camping on the beach, parking, etc... would also be a factor. Some islands just have ferries going to them... that might be a hassle. The idea is to just lay around on the beach all day and dance on that same beach all night.
