I'm proud to live in CA

SF has been pushing some forward thinking sustainable legislation lately.

Effective June 1, 2007 SF Food vendors will no longer be able to use styrofoam containers that contribute to our waste streams and must use compostable or recyclable disposable food service ware or to-go containers.

Also, in the past couple of weeks the Board of Supervisors, passed legislation that bans plastic bags to be implemented in the next 6 months to a year.

I've recently been more involved with USGBC-NCC's Advocacy Committtee where my eyes are being opened to the number of state level ordinences that are being proposed for green building.

I will post more about this proposed legislation after I get back from a hike. It's too beautiful a day to miss!
