Welcome to the Gadiel Phish Blog

Hi,

For many years, I poured my heart and soul into the operation of a Phish Fan Site. I kept it updated, put time into organizing the content and made sure there was new and fresh information for us all to feast our eyes upon. I stayed up late waiting for the setlist emails and calls from friends, and followed Phish (lliterally and virtually) around the country.

Around the turn of the millenium, Phish launched a new website, and with it kept everyone up to date on news, tour date and especially "real time" setlists. While fan sites continue to be an important part of the process for keeping the Phish fan community connected, I felt that my work had been done and it was time to move. Nonetheless, it took me about 3 years to wind things down.

Around the same time, JamBase was needing more of my attention, so I had plenty to keep me busy working to promote thousands of bands instead of just one.

As the one year anniversary of Phish's retirement came and went, I became interested in turning this site into a true shrine to Phish. After much thought I figured the best way to do that is to feature stories, essays, poems and thoughts about YOUR experience with Phish.

Thus, I'm excited to announce the creation of the Gadiel Phish Blog.

You are welcome to post to this site yourself. Simply send an email to phish at gadiel.com with your name, email and a sample of your writing and I'll give you access to be a member of this site and contribute as you please.

My only rule is that we keep it civil. Please don't complain about the current state of things, post about Phish getting back together or anything related to rumors or speculation. This is not a place (nor time) to argue, fight or flame each other. This is a place of pure expression through reflection, and let's try to let it be a sanctuary for that cause. Expression for why you're here, what Phish has done to your life and why you think they are deserved of your words are welcome additions.

So with that I open the doors for you to contribute. I have no idea what this will turn into, but hopefully the product of 20+ years of touring have left the community with a sense of wonder and positive opportunity for the future. Hey, ya never know...
