JEFF SIPE JOINS FALL TOUR

From Trey.com

We regretfully announce that our good friend and drummer Raymond Weber will not be joining us for our upcoming fall tour. Due to an abrupt and serious case of appendicitis, Raymond will be physically unable to perform at our fall dates. "I spoke with Raymond's wife Robin yesterday and she says that he is doing much better" says Trey, "They expect a full recovery but the most important thing for him right now is a lot of rest. The last year has been so incredible playing with him and we can't wait to reconnect but right now his health is the top priority. We wish him the best and hope he has a full and speedy recovery."

In his absence we are pleased to welcome old friend and musical collaborator Jeff Sipe. Trey and Jeff have shared many stages throughout their careers. From about 1990-1993 Phish toured with Col. Bruce Hampton & The Aquarium Rescue Unit (which also includes Jimmy Herring and Oteil Burbridge). The two bands toured almost exclusively for years, sharing both stages and hotel rooms. "Jeff was and still is one of my favorite drummers ever" says Trey, "I remember the first time I saw Jeff play, Phish and Widespread Panic shared a bill at the Georgia Theatre in Athens and Dave Schools and I went to see the ARU after our gig. It was the first show the ARU played with Jimmy Herring but what I remember most is being absolutely blown away by Jeff's playing. When I sat in with Phil at the Beacon and Jeff was on drums, it brought back such good memories, we really reconnected that night. I've been dying for another chance to play with him and we're both very excited about the possibilities."
