SFDC Winter Market '07

I had the great privilege to share in a panel discussion about "Our Environmental Footprint: The Legacy of Bay Area Housing" during the SF Design Center Winter Market. With Susan Szenasy, editor in chief of Metropolis, as the moderator, I was accompanied by two renowned architects, David Baker and Ann Fougeron, who have both completed exciting, environmentally sensitive projects in the Bay Area. In addition, Jordan Harris, an impressive client and environmental advocate showed images of his off-the-grid home and introduced us to some of his personal projects including an eco-chic Hybrid car service, OZO car, and Global Green which is an organization helping to rebuild New Orleans. I was honored to present Arterra, SF's first market-rate multi-family housing community on track for LEED certification. In addition, I provided some tips on what interiors designers could do to lighten our environmental footprint.

I felt that our panel discussion, including the extra hour-long question and answer session, left the audience with a feeling that they could make difference, too.

I look forward to your comments and continuing to explore ways the live more healthy & responsibly.
